Our attendance sheet for BA 106 is a landscape printout of our names, spaces beside them for our signatures and another blank for remarks. We can leave any message we want for our professor. I left a fun fact about shrimps for everyone to read. The next attendance sheet, she typed up replies for our messages. She said she liked my fun fact and left an illustration of a shrimp beside it.

It made my day.

Final schedule

BA 106: Advanced Operations Management
BA 190: Business Policy
BA 129: Management Services / Feasibility Study
PE 2 SCL: Sports Climbing
Physics 10: Physics and Astronomy for Pedestrians
FA 28: Arts in the Philippines

I registered for my last few required classes for my whole college life. Granted I don't fail any of them, this is my last semester in college.

I went ahead and canceled BA 178. Apparently, news spread that I was canceling a class. People were looking for me, hoping to get the slot. I would like to apologize for my lack of ability to wake up before noon when there's no selfish need for me to be at a certain event. Seriously, my propensity to be late all the time is astounding and apalling at the same time. I hope someone else got my slot.

Despite the absence of motivation and "game" last semester, I still managed to maintain a University Scholar grade. That is with BA and Econ subjects. Hopefully, I get to maintain that. Especially since I have general education subjects, AKA stuff I should have taken when I was a freshman/sophomore. Despite the US grade, I am still not happy with my performance last semester. I didn't get to satisfy that need to prove myself. Oh well. I have one last semester. I have to own it.

College students don't make new year's resolutions. New semester resolutions are more apt. Hence, I present mine:
  1. BE ON TIME!
I could not stress this enough, miss. I kept being late for PI 100. I would come in at half-time. WTF. Wake up, earlier.

  2. No more sleeping in class.
This includes naps during exams, even if I find the reactions of the proctors when I wake up from a five-minute nap during my Econ exams. Best naps ever.

  3. Recite like nobody's business.
(Lesson learned. It cost me my grade in PI 100. In my defense, I knew nothing of the topics. But then again, I don't like reciting if I knew somebody else in the room knew the answer. I guess I have to change that, even if it means being more annoying.)

  4. Avoid all-nighters.
Just because I use up concealer like whoa whenever I pull off all-nighters.

  5. Laptops will solely be used for notetaking, not Plants vs. Zombies-ing.
Last one would be hard to keep. I just felt the need to make an odd-numbered list. The rule of odds. I'm also planning to document my final semester. I just realized the lapse in my entries. I was so active during high school and freshman year, then I died. I hope I keep it up, for selfish reasons.

Life update, my laptop got reformatted, the day before the Coke competition. Oh awesome, I didn't get to make pubmats. Claude was the only one who worked on it. All of my photos are gone. My face that day was consistently like the rage fffffffffuuuuuuuuuuu cartoon. D:

Onto more universal things, I'm really devastated over Copeland's break up, just a day after Armor For Sleep. I've liked Copeland since high school. I have memories attached to their songs, beautiful and sad ones. I hope they push through with their final album. Although people claim that You Are My Sunshine was their best, I still hold Beneath The Medicine Tree close to my heart.

Oh, speaking of memories, for some reason I have been digging up Hopesfall stuff. Weren't they amazing? DISCUSS! Or not. LJ is so dead. Anyway, I've been posting stuff in my quasi-music blog over at tumblr. It's so originally and aptly named camilleruivivar.

*** final schedule in the next entry

This may be the last time I will be posting a schedule like this. Officially, this is my last semester in college. Granted, I don’t fuck things up in the next five months. They are in class codes. Here is the legend:

BA 106: Advanced Operations Management
BA 190: Business Policy
BA 178: Sales
BA 129: Management Services / Feasibility Study
PE 2 SCL: Sports Climbing
Physics 10: Physics and Astronomy for Pedestrians
FA 28: Arts in the Philippines

I’m thrilled over my very last PE, Sports Climbing. Ideally, I should have finished my PEs during my sophomore year. We all know what ideally means, anyway. Guiller has been a phenomenal influence over the PEs I have taken. It seems we have similar 3 out 4 PEs. Each one as awesome as the last.

Here’s my dilemma, BA 178 vs. BA 106. I only need one more business elective. I could opt to take both but that would mean sacrificing a lighter schedule. I love my professor in BA 178. I had him for my Integrated Marketing Communications class. He’s fair, reasonable, and amazingly smart. It doesn’t hurt that he’s quite pleasing to the eye as well. BUT my major concern is the schedule. His class is scheduled for Thursday mornings. The car is coding on Thursday. It means I have to be super early (AKA before 7:00am) or commute to school.

BA 106, however, had great reviews from previous classes. I am not sure who the professor is. It’s also seasonal, one class offered annually. My OC self is begging to choose this so my schedule would be nice, even and symmetric. I think I’ve made up my mind.

Not too sure how much time I would be able to allot for hanging out and lunch outs. But give me a call anyway. Wish me luck next semester. I pray it will be my last, even though I am not looking forward to ending my college life just yet.

Here’s to an amazing upcoming semester!

House Season 6 Episode 1
I think it's either you'll love it or you'll hate it. Read on first why I believe so before I give my verdict.

House lost its charm when it became patient-of-the-week. It fell into a monotonous, emotionless routine. The characters were boring. Foreman and 13's romance was the most boring, no chemistry at all romance I have ever seen on television. They killed of Kutner, my only favorite character... Anyway, I'm digressing. If you're sick of that, you will find the new episode of the new season of House very refreshing.

Cut for spoilers )

Battlestar Galactica
Sean has been bugging me to watch this show. I didn't want to because this is way too fictional and futuristic for my liking. But when he lent me his original DVDs of the first season, I had no other excuse not to watch it. I finally found time during the storm. HOLY MOLY! I AM ADDICTED NOW!

Before I give my commentary, I will have to finish the first season. The reconnection of my internet left me without excuses to get back to doing stuff for school and extra-curricular activites. Seriously, hot people, great plot, great effects (for a series), engaging characters, and did I mention hot people? It's enough reason to watch a show. YES, I AM ONE OF YOU NOW, BSG FANS! Do I get a welcoming party? Ok, nevermind.

True Blood Season Finale
That was one of the worst episodes of True Blood yet. Maryann died 1/3 through the episode but the whole season was building up on her as the villain. WTF! It totally lacked vampire Eric. Anyway, the episode had an imbalance. They failed to sustain the season finale grandeur that it was building up on. They lost their charm when it came to setting everything up for the next season.

Cut for spoilers - but, really, you should have seen it by now. )

Life update: I've been super tired lately. Here are a few highlights of the past few month or so.

Jimmy Antiporda came to our BA 172 (Integrated Marketing Communications) class. He started a music school which not only trains traditional but also contemporary pieces. There are no lesson plans. He customizes the sessions based on what the student knows and can do. It's a real life case. We're making an IMC for his new school. I hope there's a reward beyond a good grade in the case our IMC gets chosen. (UPDATE: We won, by the way. We got PhP 5,000! Divided by 7... OK.)

Speaking of IMC, Coca Cola opened a competition to UP students. Basically, their position as market leader is being threatened by the health trend and cheaper substitutes. If you wish to get to know your friends better, join a competition with them. It brings out the best and the worst in people. It was fun though. I just hope all the time we spent was worth it. I sacrificed money and study time for it.

I've had this epiphany... I've spent so much time doing things for other people. Although, it's true, I did have a bit of a personal gain but compared to everything I have done, it's pretty negligible. As if it was not worth it. I have one semester in college left. This is the time I scream, "FUCK IT!" I'm doing everything for myself. I'll pursue everything I wish to pursue in college. Maybe a little too late but it's better than realizing this after graduation. SCUBA diving, I'm coming back. Archery, maybe I'll continue with you. You have given me so much stress release. Marketing competitions, I'm with you, Ms. Luna. Ad Core, I might just stick with you.

I shall quit boring you with academics and my non-existent life. Let's move on to a pretty universal topic, fandoms!

I think this is an unofficial video. It's true on so many levels. Not to mention, it's way better than the other Season 3 promos. I can't wait for August 16!

I have this propensity to update whenever I should not update. I just realized how long since I last updated. I have memorized my schedule by heart by now and hated it wholeheartedly as well. Here are things that I have been up to:

  1. BA 145: Investments is, without a doubt, my favorite subject. Oh wait, add Archery to that. So I have two favorite subjects this semester. BA 145 is so much fun due to Sir Jonas (AKA long lost Jonas brother. -_-) being our professor. He has a way of making us study and enjoy the class as well. Not to mention, the classes are like a night out at a comedy bar. Archery is fun because. I mean, there's no explanation needed. Deadly weapons, and pretending to be elves (on my part only), nothing could beat that!

  2. My birthday was amazing. I hope it would not be the last time I get to spend it with my friends from college. I shall make a post on it, separately. Yeah, in like a month or two. Hah! Friends, surprises, failed surprises and fireworks... it was fun! (:

  3. I feel as if I'm underachieving. I haven't been participative in class, I'm distracted... I'm just not in the game right now. I hope to get back on my feet soon. I'm so sorry to anyone who has been affected by my lack of motivation. I'll fix myself up soon.

  4. I haven't seen any of the much-awaited movies. I have no time during weekdays and I want nothing but sleep during weekends. Although, I'm seeing the premiere of Public Enemies tomorrow with Gen and Jen. AdCore FTW!

  5. I have a paper and a couple more chapters for tomorrow hence I bid you, adieu.

Thanks for not yet deleting me. Eep. I promise for profundity and posts with richer content some other time.
